method to stop receiving telemarketing calls on BSNL mobile

Ok ! ,

How to stop bsnl ads on your phone

I am a subscriber of BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited) and offlate BSNL has also started giving marketing calls like "Susbcribe for songs" or "Subscribe for caller tunes" , "make friends" and so on...

It may be beneficial for some people who want to try new BSNL plans or added value services but it irks me coz it rangs up when you are doing some serious work.

You have to leave your attention to pick up the phones just to discover that "they are selling some stuffs".

After a span of bombardment of this unwanted /promotional calls , i decided to stop this promotional receipt service on my handset.I talked to the customer care about this and they suggested to sms this code to bsnl..

START DND and send it to 1909

DND stands for - Do Not Disturb and you stop those BSNL promotional calls...Easy , Isn't it ?

Within 45 days the preferance of not to receive marketing calls on your cell phones becomes active.

To revert the process back to old preferance...

Type: STOP DND, Send to: 1909

Do Not Disturb is an important service (but less popularised by BSNL) provided to customers (on receipt of request) to exempt them from receiving Unsolicited Commercial Communication (UCC) from any / all source. There is always this kind of service on other cell phone operators as well so enquire from your customer service...

Bye !
